Can't tell if Fujimoto got bored and wanted to move on to his next project idea, or if he really is this bad. There is "subversion" and then there is just pissing off your readers/viewers.
His ideas are usually good but I don't think I've ever been happy with any of his executions on his longer narratives. Fire Punch was irritating as well. Great idea, great setting, bad execution.
